Terms of Service

These terms apply when you create or use a Moonjar account. Plain English, kept short.
Who we are
Moonjar is operated by Jay McCormack as a sole proprietor based in Australia. Email j@jaym.cc for anything.
Your account
- You need a valid email address to sign up. By signing up you confirm you’re at least 13 years old.
- One person, one account. Don’t share credentials.
- Keep your sign-in email reachable — it’s how we recover access.
- You’re responsible for what gets captured under your account.
What you can do
Use Moonjar for personal knowledge capture, search, and assistance. Forward emails, take photos, run AI queries against your own content. Normal app usage at the levels listed on the Support page and your in-app Settings → Usage screen.
What you can’t do
- Resell or redistribute the service.
- Use Moonjar to capture, process, or store content that’s illegal where you live or where Moonjar is hosted.
- Reverse-engineer the API to bypass usage caps or the AI cost ceiling.
- Use it to harm others — harassment, doxxing, spam, automated scraping of third-party services through our chat tools.
If you do, we’ll suspend the account.
AI features
Moonjar relies on third-party AI providers (Fireworks, Cohere, Gemini). They process your content while you’re using the related features. The full list, what each receives, and your rights are on the Privacy page.
AI output can be wrong. Don’t treat assistant replies as professional advice — medical, legal, financial, or otherwise. Verify before acting.
Subscription and billing
Moonjar is offered as a paid subscription through the App Store. Apple handles all billing, refunds, and tax. Cancel any time from your iOS Subscriptions settings — your account stays active until the end of the paid period.
If a feature isn’t named on the Support page and your in-app Settings → Usage screen, it’s not part of the plan. Caps shown on signup and on the Usage screen are the binding numbers.
Termination
You can delete your account any time: Settings → Account → Delete account. Data is purged synchronously; backups age out within 30 days. See Privacy.
We can suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms. Where possible we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to export your data before purge.
Disclaimers
Moonjar is provided as-is. No warranty of fitness for any particular purpose. AI features are experimental — outputs vary, hallucinations happen, services occasionally fail.
To the extent allowed by law, Moonjar’s liability is capped at the subscription fees you’ve paid in the previous twelve months.
If you live somewhere with consumer protection laws that override these limits (Australian Consumer Law, EU statutory rights, etc.), those rights apply and these terms don’t reduce them.
Changes
If we materially change these terms — pricing, scope, what data we use — we’ll update this page, change the Effective date, and surface a notice in the app on next launch. Quiet wording fixes don’t trigger a notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute is handled in the courts of Queensland unless your local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
