Frequently asked

How do I delete my account?

Open the app and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Confirm, and your library, attachments, chats, memories, embeddings, and metadata are scheduled for hard-deletion within seven days. Encrypted backups roll off within 30 days under standard rotation. If you can't sign in for any reason, email support@in.moonjar.io from the address registered to your account and we'll initiate deletion from our end.

How do I reset my password?

From the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password and enter the email you signed up with. You'll receive a reset link valid for one hour. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check spam, then email support@in.moonjar.io.

How do I export my data?

An in-app export is on the roadmap. Until it ships, email support@in.moonjar.io from the address registered to your account and we'll prepare a copy of everything we hold for you — documents, chats, memories, fields — and send it back.

Can I use Moonjar without the AI features?

No — Moonjar is AI-native. Capture, classification, search, and chat all rely on third-party AI services; without them there's no Moonjar. On first launch you'll see an explicit consent screen naming every provider and what each receives; declining means not using the app. To revoke consent later, delete your account (instructions above) — your data goes with it.

What's the email capture address?

Each verified account gets save@in.moonjar.io as a single shared inbox. To start capturing from email, register your sender address in Settings → Email addresses and verify the round-trip. Emails from unverified senders are dropped silently — this is deliberate, so a leaked address can't be used to spam your library.

Why are you using third-party AI services?

Because the alternative — running our own models — would be measurably worse for an indie product, and the providers we use offer per-API-call privacy guarantees that match our threat model. The full list, what each receives, and how to opt out is in the privacy policy.

Does Moonjar work offline?

Capture and reads from the local cache work offline; the offline queue retries when you're back online. AI features (chat, classification, search beyond the cache) require connectivity.

Is there a watchOS app?

Yes — a SwiftUI-native companion for Apple Watch with a daily glance and push alerts. Sign-in is inherited from the paired iPhone, so there's nothing to set up beyond installing the watch app from the Watch app on iPhone.

What does it cost?

Moonjar Pro is AUD $99 per month, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Billing is handled by Apple — your subscription renews automatically through your Apple ID unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device, or from inside the app in Settings → Account → Subscription. Generous usage limits are included (1,000 AI chats, 2,000 captures and 120 minutes of voice per month, 20 GB of storage); see the in-app Usage page for live consumption.

I found a bug. I have a feature request.

Email is the right channel. Include the device, the iOS version, and a screenshot or description of what happened. We respond to every email.

Status & reliability

Moonjar's API runs in production with hourly database backups retained off-site, and an automated health check. Planned maintenance — when needed — is announced in-app at least 24 hours ahead. Unplanned incidents are communicated by email to active users.

Anything else

Moonjar is built and supported by Jay — one human, in Australia. If something is broken, weird, or just not working the way you expect, the fastest path to a fix is the email link above. There's no support tier or queue position; there's just a person reading the inbox.
